Kobelli: A Leader in Designing Beautiful Moissanite Jewelry

I first fell in love with Kobelli Fine Jewelry (which is based in Los Angeles, CA) when I discovered the gemstone called “Moissanite” – which is made from the naturally occurring mineral “silicon carbide” (SiC). As you’ll see a little further down the page, the mineral is too small in its natural found state to use in jewelry, but science has found a way!

Moissanite: A Relative Newcomer to Fine Jewelry

Kobelli moissanite - Kobelli jewelry is highly rated.Although I had heard about Moissanite a few years ago when my husband mentioned it to me, it was something that he had learned about from one of his investor newsletters. At the time, it was still fairly new, but rapidly gaining in popularity due to its high quality and sheer optical brilliance that compares very favorably to diamonds (not to mention its environmentally friendly footprint).

Where diamonds have a hardness of “10” on the Mohs scale of mineral hardness, Moissanite comes in a close second at a 9.5. And many people say that it rivals diamonds in brilliance.

So, Moissanite has stuck in my head for quite a long time, and when I began looking around online for Moissanite jewelry, Kobelli Fine Jewelry came onto my radar.

A Little History about Moissanite

People have known about Moissanite for a long time, and its name comes from the French chemist, Henri Moissan, who first discovered the mineral in 1893 during a visit to Canyon Diablo, Arizona. Although he originally thought the crystals were diamonds, he later determined that they were, in fact, silicon carbide (in 1904). (Source: www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moissanite)

What was a bit of a bummer, however, was that the crystals that naturally occur in nature are way too small and rare to use in jewelry. This is where the beauty of science comes in!

Charles and Colvard Made it Happen!

As it turns out, the gemstone was being produced solely by Charles and Colvard who initially had the patent. But that patent has expired, and while Kobelli still sources their Forever One Moissanite stones from Charles and Colvard, they also have their own brand – Kobelli Moissanite, made in the USA in California!

I’ve added a few pictures from their site to show you some of the pieces from their collections. There is a lot more to Kobelli than just Moissanite, however!

Kobelli: Moissanite and More!

Even though they are extremely well known for their Moissanite, they also have a stunning collection of diamond jewelry – including lab-created diamonds. People who are drawn to Moissanite and lab-created diamonds are often looking for gems that are considered to be eco-friendly and also conflict-free. This is totally understandable!

Whether you are looking for engagement rings, necklaces, earrings, wedding rings or anything else, there is an outstanding variety available at Kobelli through their Amazon Store (here) (Link will open in a new tab).

Budget & Customer Service

From my personal experience, I also think that there is another reason behind Kobelli’s popularity besides just the wide variety, and that is the fact that there is jewelry to fit nearly every budget. The metals range from 10K gold up to 18K, and even Platinum!

So, if you are looking for something special and lovely but can’t spend more than a couple hundred dollars, you WILL find something!

Kobelli Exclusive Collections

At the same time, if you are able to spend a little more, Kobelli offers a number of “one of a kind” collections.

The sky is the limit, really. If you are a collector of fine jewelry, or are in a position to purchase an exquisite ring, necklace or other piece of high-end jewelry, you will find something to satisfy your tastes!

Another thing I’ve noticed from my own dealings with the company is that they are very responsive. That goes a long way, in my opinion.

It’s my hope that if you are in the market for a beautiful piece of jewelry, and want something truly unique and special – whether it’s Moissanite, diamonds, or other stone – you will give Kobelli a chance to earn your business! CLICK HERE to visit their Amazon store site!
