A Little Bit about Kobelli

As you probably already know, there are some very big players on the field when it comes to fine jewelry. In the early 1980s, Kobi Katz created his jewelry business in Los Angeles, CA, which is now known as Kobelli Fine Jewelry. Kobelli is now being recognized as a major player in the field of creating and retailing diamond and moissanite jewelry that is not only unique but environmentally friendly as well.

We’ve discovered that Kobelli’s diamond jewelry is quite different from a lot of other diamond jewelry on the market today. Their designs and styles are fresh, cutting-edge, and innovative. Kobelli strives to meet the needs of its customers by supplying pieces that are not only excellent in quality and design but are also of superior craftsmanship.

If you feel you may have seen Kobelli jewelry in large stores like Macy’s in the past, you probably did! I’m not sure Kobi has his pieces there these days since potential customers can save more money by dealing directly with Kobelli online, but I do know that he did have jewelry there, and in other stores as well at some point. Back to Top

Dedicated to Using Conflict-Free, KPCS Certified Diamonds

AND to top it all off, the company is serious about only importing diamonds that are conflict-free. There is a lot of conflict surrounding the importing and exporting of diamonds from other countries – partly due to environmental reasons, but also the human aspect (diamonds from war-torn regions are also sometimes referred to as “Blood Diamonds” and more and more jewelers want NOTHING to do with them).

You can learn more about the “Clean Diamond Trade Act,” which controls the importation of rough diamonds through the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS) here. The Clean Diamond Trade Act has been in place since July, 2003.

Kobelli has a LOT of gorgeous diamond rings, necklaces, earrings, and bracelets to choose from (At my last look, there were over 3,400 rings alone at the site!).

Is Moissanite a Good Alternative to Diamonds?

Yes, it is. As one solution to conflict diamonds, Kobelli offers moissanite, an outstanding alternative to natural diamonds. While we talk about this a little more below, this gemstone is very close (or, some feel) even superior to diamonds in beauty, hardness, brilliance, and clarity. In addition, the company offers their sustainably grown lab-created diamonds which are “grown” in California!

Kobelli’s moissanite jewelry is stunning, and in many ways, more beautiful than jewelry made with natural diamonds. To fully appreciate this lab created gemstone or diamond, it’s important to understand the origins of moissanite and how it compares to a natural diamond. Back to Top

What is Moissanite?

Moissanite was first discovered in a meteor crater in 1893 by a chemist named Henri Moissan – hence the name. Natural moissanite is an extremely rare mineral that is not found naturally on Earth. Many years after the discovery of moissanite, scientists learned to create the gemstone in labs, jewelers Charles and Colvard being the first to patent the process. One of Charles and Colvard’s gems are the beautiful Forever One Moissanite, and Kobelli uses these remarkable lab-created diamonds in some of its most spectacular jewelry.

Why Kobelli uses moissanite

When compared to a diamond, Moissanite gives a natural diamond a run for its money. On the MOHs Scale of Hardness, a diamond rates a 10 and a moissanite a 9.25. When it comes to brilliance, which refers to the ability to reflect white light, Moissanite actually disperses light better than a diamond which gives it more sparkle and brilliance than a diamond.

Unlike a diamond, moissanite is not graded on color. The gemstone does project amazing rainbow light and colors when you focus light on it! Kobelli uses this stunning gemstone because it is an excellent alternative to a natural diamond and is an almost perfect choice for consumers wanting an alternative to traditional diamonds.

What are the benefits of investing in moissanite jewelry?

For many consumers, it comes down to a social choice – the main benefit is owning a beautiful piece of fine jewelry while feeling good about how the components have been sourced. As mentioned, the sparkle and brilliance of moissanite are unmatched when compared to other gemstones including diamonds, but there are other benefits to purchasing moissanite jewelry.

Remember that moissanite is second in hardness ONLY to natural diamonds. It is definitely harder than other gemstones, including sapphires, rubies, and emeralds. Diamond jewelry is based on the cut, carat, clarity, and color, but moissanite is only priced on the size and quality level of the gemstone.

And then there are the settings! Kobelli offers some beautiful and amazing settings of 14kt white, yellow, and rose gold. When paired with the brilliance of moissanite and other gemstones, the pieces are truly remarkable works of art. We have devoted an entire article about Kobelli Moissanite here if you would like more background. Back to Top

What actual consumers are saying in Kobelli reviews

As a whole, Kobelli has received top ratings by the majority of its consumers. One person stumbled upon Kobelli while traveling to L.A., which is the company’s home base, with a group of friends. As it turned out, each one of them purchased a piece of Kobelli’s jewelry and they were all very satisfied with their purchases and impressed with the quality of service they received. Kobelli received five-star reviews from almost every one of their customers which is truly an amazing feat. Kobelli definitely has a dedication to service as well as quality.

Even non-jewelry related sites like Yelp have only great reviews. You can see a few screenshots of reviews in the video below this article.

Keep in mind that there is more to Kobelli than their engagement rings and bridal sets (The site has over 3,400 rings alone!). As mentioned earlier, they also offer bracelets, necklaces and pendants, and earrings – and they offer more than diamonds and moissanite. For example, if you look at their “Kobelli Color Gemstones” collection, you’ll see green quartz, amethyst, blue topaz, peridot, and other lovely stones.  Back to Top

Kobelli’s Lashbrook collection for men

A SMALL sample of the Lashbrook men's rings at Kobelli! When a lot of people think of fine jewelry and special collections, they think of pieces designed to be worn by women. At least that’s the way it seems whenever I see a TV commercial for jewelry (especially around holidays LOL). But, let’s not forget the guys! Kobelli features an extensive and gorgeous collection of unique men’s wedding bands and rings by Lashbrook.

These are both eye-catching and masculine. The men’s collection features rings with sports themes, matte finishes, and you can find rings in a number of metals, including Tungsten Carbide, Elysium (a ground diamond), 14k and 18k gold, platinum – and even a design with Gibeon Meteorite inlay.

I honestly think that these Lashbook rings are some of the absolute best men’s wedding bands I’ve ever seen. This collection is very impressive and my husband thought they were some of the nicest he’s ever seen too. We’ve written more extensively about Lashbrook men’s rings here, if you are interested in a little more info. Back to Top

Purchasing Kobelli jewelry

Buying fine jewelry is not something to take lightly especially if you’re buying online, but according to every review I’ve seen, buying from Kobelli’s Amazon Store online is safe and easy. I’ve personally dealt with some of the representatives for the company, and would have no qualms whatsoever in buying from them online. That said, Kobelli’s jewelry is mid to high end in price, design, and quality, but for many folks, high-end jewelry is not a luxury they can afford.

However, Kobelli has made it possible for just about anyone to purchase their jewelry through several options. If you buy online through the company’s Amazon Store, you can save money on purchasing from a major retailer. The website also allows you to make purchases via credit card or Paypal. Kobelli also offers a layaway plan. With just 20 percent of the total purchase price, you can place any item on layaway. You’ll just pay the remaining balance as you go over a period of six months. And let’s not forget Amazon’s competitive prices!

Don’t forget that one of the benefits of buying your jewelry online is that you can save money over a “bricks and mortar” store. A lot depends on what you’re planning on buying, and how much you’re planning on spending.  But they DO want your business, so they offered some coupons to use when you’re buying online! Also, they occasionally have special holiday sales! You just never know what they are going to have on special.
